In this workshop we will go beyond the initial understanding of the Theory of Attachment to a deeper awareness of the specific profiles in the Avoidant, Ambivalent and Chaotic categories. Use of Attachment Theory can build a bridge to connect to where a client is emotionally.  This workshop results in a more in-depth understanding of both theory and practice, meaning you are better equipped to help your clients move beyond their familiar patterns of interaction.  Clear case studies will be given to help bring each category to life.

What’s covered:

This workshop gives a framework for the therapist and client, establishing a common language to connect in the work.

A review of the essence of Attachment Theory covering each of Bowlby and Ainsworth’s categories and attachment styles

Practical methods of understanding each attachment type

The specific needs for growth in each category

Tools to identify self-limiting behaviours

Methods to give you confidence to deal with difficulties you may encounter.

Expected Outcomes:

An increased understanding of the unique criteria in each category; with  practical and theoretical tools to help your clients break free from negative patterns.  Denise will provide relevant resources, practical tools for your clients and a bibliography for further study.  There will be interaction, discussion and time for questions.
